Just got done playing God of War III demo as well as the Dante's Inferno demo and I would say both are very similar to each other, when comparing core game-play.
Both have their own compelling universe, but when it comes to the graphics department, Dante's falls short of GoWIII. When it comes down to which game will be purchased with my greenbacks the answer is simply "both" with GoWIII being the standout game.
